Freedom, holiday and Eureka 7 songs

Finally freedom time! Yesterday Peter did an extreme trick for the last matlab lecture. He juggled knives while riding a tall unicycle. Saw lots of people filming it so its probably already on youtube now. Played some pool in the afternoon just to celebrate the end of uni. Then went home and worked on the matlab project. After a few hours of battle, I have triumphed.

Today, I went to the Career's Day in uni. Sherman came to my house and we took the bus to get there. It was basically like last year, we met up with Ming then went to the mechatronics lecture since it is one of the course Im leaning towards to. We went to 1.401 then realised it was just a live feed projection from the other room, we didnt want to stare at the projection screen so we tried going to the mechanics lecture room. We arrived at the door and the security dudes wouldnt allow us in, claiming its full already so we went back to the first room lol. After mechatronics it was electrical. I dont know if I should do electrical or mechatronics next year but at least I have narrowed it down, just have to ask a few opinions.

Went to have lunch after the lectures. First we wanted to go to Mentatz but its closed... so we went to the Jap restaurant thats above the Atrium and that was closed... so we just got a whole pizza at the bottom of the Atrium and shared. I reckon we should've just got Dominoes, it would've been much cheaper and more filling but oh well.

I'm gonna leave here openings and endings from Eureka 7 which I thought were good.

Favourite - 1st opening, Flow - Days

2nd - 4th ending, Canvas - Coolon

Rest - 2nd opening, Shounen's Heart - Home Made Kazoku & 3rd ending, Tip Taps Tip

Sherman's Birthday

Today's electrical was fairly easy although the lecturer said this is the hardest thing. Chemmat was insane, I was so busy taking down notes because she changed them really fast and her handwriting was hard to read that I didnt hear anything she said. Met up with Jerrell and David for lunch then went to engineering library to study for international business. It was really efficient study in my opinion because we were all contributing ideas and explaining things to each other and trying to remember what the lecturer said about various things. The test's content was alright I thought but I needed more time. I was confused for the first 5 mins too. It had random mixed country names like Chiwan, Zeatralia and New Ausland. I gave it my best but I dont think the result will be good.

Went to play basketball afterwards while waiting for Sherman to finish his chemmat lab. Jerrell and I were just shooting around when 'Ray Allen' said ok guys lets start. He assumed we were playing without even asking, wtf? But we joined in anyway. Fairly good game it was, Jerrell was sinking more shots than usual (I did come up with some random shooting routine and he just followed it lol). I reckon they underestimated us because we were first years, although they won by 1, it was only because I was too lazy to defend, not in term of skills.

Then we went to play pool for Sherman's birthday. Due to unexpected bball game, I didnt get him anything but I'll get something for him later on. Sherman and I kept mis-hit our ball, especially him when he was breaking, one time he missed 5 times in a row lol. After pool, we went and got dinner at Imax and chilled. Sherman went to his birthday dinner with his parents.

Jerrell's Bday

8am start today, nothing particularly interesting happened during lectures. We got a new chemmat lecturer. She is quite funny, talks to herself (or us?) a lot and making random comments but definately not a dull lectuer. I reckon all my lecturers this semester are all pretty good, they either won teaching awards or they're funny.

Today was Jerrell's birthday but didnt do anything because we had the electrical test at night and have international business test tomorrow. The electrical test was a suprise, it was harder than previous 2 years. I think most of us took for granted that the test would be the same as before. Overall it was alright though.

Planning to meet up with David tomorrow to study for international business. Last test, go me (jap: ganbatte, fuaito)!

Laptop lost but recovered!

Yesterday I decided to bring my laptop to uni since I had both matlab and chemmat test. Studied at engineering library with the crew between 12-2 for chemmat. Everyone was telling me to take the protective plastic off because it looks ugly but I believe dust is of greater concern than looks, so the plastic stays! Then at 2, went for the matlab test, it was fairly easy I reckon also finished lab6 before the 2 hours was up.

Afterwards I went to the general library (Jerrell calls it the hyperbolic time chamber from DBZ, cause whenever I emerge from it, I become stronger; knowledge-wise). I wanted to study at the 6th level because I like the scenery from up there but it was full... Went down to 5th, it was full... Finally found a seat in 4th. There I did the chemmat sample test.

After studying, got hungry so went to bought $2 chips, the line was long, like 10 people wanted $2 chips. The glasses lady seemed really tired, must've been a long day for her, everybody ordering $2 chips lol. Visited the crew afterwards then we all went to our separate test rooms, Sam was with me, in MLT3. The chemmat test was fairly straightforward I thought, some people said it was really confusing, it was either I did it completely wrong or I'm genius(in guessing).

After the test, we met up with Jerrell and Ming and went to Wendys. It was after ordering the meal and taking off my bag did I notice that I was not carrying the extra load. So I ran back to MLT3 and it was not there. My guess was the people who supervised the exam had taken it but I was still not sure, it was at that time I knew exactly how Jerrell felt when he lost his ipod. Later, went home and sent email to the chemmat lecturer and lost property. I had nothing to do that night, was in no mood for studying so I went to sleep at 10:30. During sleep I kept dreaming various consequences for my laptop.

Today, first thing upon arriving at uni, open webmail and check and GG the chemmat office had my laptop. Went to retrieve it on the 8th floor at lunch time. I dont know what I would have done if my laptop was lost. Everything is in it, games, music, movies, assignments, anime, unimaginable. Anyway just found out today that my International Business test was worth 30% and it has only 4 questions! Have electrical test tomorrow but should be fine for that.

My dad sent me this today, its rather interesting.

Busy week next week

Next week is going to be test week, going to have tests for all my subjects, whats worse matlab and chemmat are going to be on the same day, Monday >< Matlab shouldnt be too hard since it is only half an hour and its exactly the same as Peerwise but chemmat... It feels like its biology in high school or 140 last semester except this time its worse since our coursebook has got hardly any texts explaining, all we did are diagrams and graphs and random notes at the side. Got electrical test on Wednesday, should be ok, most of the stuff are pretty easy. International business on Thursday, dunnno how Im going to study for that... might get Jerrell and David together and just talk about it.

Received some suggestions about creating more paragraphs lol, I'll try remember doing it. Now on to games, right now I am just waiting to try Aion open beta. Aion is another mmorpg created by NCsoft (the ones who made Lineage2). There are quite promising expectations from this game, the graphic is like next level of l2, heard from Jason and Shimeen the gameplay is like combining wow and l2 together. I am really keen to try some official mmorpg since I've been playing private servers for a while now. Need Aion, open beta!

Aion official website - English
Aion official website - Taiwan (more flash)

On l2 I've just been doing events and farming moonstone shards, I'm getting better at events, getting more kills and my timing for stun and hp skills are getting more precise. The clan Im with now have been busy lately, going on a lot of raids to get clan skill items so now I have 2 clan skills, might and body. This clan seems like a good one, people are working together to make the clan better however I dont have the time to get involve with them right now.

I will post my current favourite english song:

Once and music

I realised that it is only 2 weeks until the holidays! This is why i like uni better than high school, the term is shorter and more freedom to do what you want. I've been playing a lot of pool this week, 3 days in a row in fact, trying to practise aiming and stronger shots. Other than pool this week was rather dull.

Three good things happened today. First on L2, I finally bought Vesper jewels so now I should be tanker against mages and they wont kill me in like 5 hits.... Second, finally finished task 2 for the matlab project! It was hard when i started it but now i looked back and it seemed easy, just had a few tricky bits. Thanks to Ming for sorting the tricky bit out.

Last, I watched the movie Once just then. I had no idea what the movie was about nor have I heard of it but after watching it, I was like :O wow. I dont really want to give spoilers but I'll give some general info. This movie is all about music, you will hear a lot of songs when you watch it and its not just themes, they are all 3-4 mins full songs with lyrics. I only recommend watching this movie when you are at peace and understand music otherwise you will probably be bored. What I mean by understand music is you can tell if a song is good music or not. To me, the top 10 popular songs does not mean they are good songs, I reckon about 80% of the music these days are shit. Its not because they are all rap or rock or pop and I like soft songs with passion, I actually hate soft songs because they are so boring to listen to. To me, good music can not really be described by words, the beat, melody or the singer's voice can vary but when they fall together nicely, you just know that it is a good song.

Anyway, here are two songs from the movie I think its good. WARNING SPOILERS dont watch it if you want to hear the song while watching the movie.

Starting to get busy

School works are starting to pick up, for the next 2 weeks I'll be working on a project on Matlab, just did task 1, was having fun testing different frequencies :P 131 labs are like impossible to finish now, having trouble with the last task, how the hell do you write the script to change the colour of a pixel to grey while checking if its blue ==. Going to have a chemmat lab this Friday and an electrical one next Wednesday. Still gotta revise chemmat and read the international business book ><
Watched a random episode of Bleach today and coincidently it was the episode which has what i think the best screenshot of Ichigo's expression in the entire anime. I remember I used it as my MSN display picture last year, well Im using it again cause its just so cool, it's a mix of pity, smile and sadness, just ownage XD

Pool tournament

It's only afternoon but Im already writing since it was a fun morning. So I had to get up at 8 today because we had to get there at 9. The tournament was at Newmarket, at a Tenpin Bowling & Pool place. Just before the tournament started, everyone was practising and guess who I saw, Richard Lin! (for those who dont know who he is, he is our Auckland uni lecturer for design) When round 1 began, guess who my opponent was? RICHARD LIN LOL. It was best out of 3 rounds, during our rounds I made some skilled shots, I was good with aiming, slicing, tapping the ball while hes really good at hitting those fast, long range shots. In end, he won twice, I was always one ball or one shot behind. My round 2 was against this old dude, Im guessing around his 40-50s, he was just as accurate as Richard Lin if not better so first match I lost by heaps. His breaks were really sht, he basically planned it so I had hardly any good shots. Luckily during the 2nd match, he accidently hit the black ball in. 3rd match I was playing my usual, I was winning too but then I missed a long range hit to the black ball and that caused me my lost. At the prize giving I found out the old dude won the tournament... To think that I could've finished him off but I didnt, just makes me regret...
Afterwards I met Hank, a TGS friend, form 7 now, he was there for the tenpin bowling tournament. Played a game of time crisis then I left since I wasnt going to play tenpin bowling. I walked out of the building and had no idea where the hell I was so I just walked around, found a bus stop and got on the first bus that came LOL Luckily it stopped at Auckland uni otherwise I would've end up who knows where.
After this tournament, my interest in pool just got greater, from now on every game I play, it will be training for me.

Whatever happens

Yesterday morning was such a terrible start. First of all I forgot to set my alarm and I woke up at 9:02am when my bus is at 9:13 so i had to wash up in 10mins, grabbed some breakfast and ran to the bus stop. After I got on the bus, the ticket machine ran out of ticket roll so the driver had to put a new one in and that just took 10mins cause he was a newb. Then after a passenger helped him out with putting it in, he somehow broke the machine and that took another 20mins. This meant that I got the city at 10... and was 20mins late. Luckily the electrical lecture was just revision of last year's stuff. Ben and I were about to play bball at lunch time but then got taken over by volleyball people... International business joke of the day was: The lecturer asked what quality does this bank has which stood out in the market? Then this dude was like cause its different...? Lecturer: Getting closer. Dude: Special? Lecturer: Closer, I mean your mum think you are special but thats not necessarily a good thing. LOL basically dissing that dude. After int bus, went to pool. Jerrell was owning at the start, Ben was getting killed and in the end, I prevailed!
Did the electrical oasis today, almost everyone i knew in engineering were in the library computers, I had help from Alvin and Chris but I still got 8/10 cause I didnt read about the negative signs grrrr..... 131 project is suppose to come out tonight but it still hasnt, I want to start cause I'm bored right now. Tomorrow I'm going to a pool tournament, I dont know how pro the others are but hopefully I can play at my best, gotta wake up at 8 though ><.

I'll post my favourite song at the moment. The Pussycat Dolls - Whatever Happens

Fillers

Havent wrote in a few days, I guess its cause there hasnt been anything that interesting, kinda feels like filler episodes in an anime. Well on Saturday went to gym with Shawn and after gym we were about to go to a Taiwanese place to eat but then it was closed... so we went Mentatz. On Sunday, after shopping at Pak'n'save, found out got locked outside since we forgot to bring keys so we went to Raycher's house to kill some time, playing on his xbox. Yesterday Matlab lab was mind-blasting! I just finished at 2 hours and that was cause Jason helped me. Today after 12, Jerrell, Ben and I wanted to go play pool but when we got there, we realised it opens at 1 so we went to Imax arcade to kill some time. We had a 3 way link basketball shoot out and I was the winner :) and got a free game. At 1, went back to play pool, I realised that Jerrell and I had gotten a lot better since we started lol. Near 2 I had to rush back to Internation Business by myself cause Jerrell decided to wag (that fag). The lecture's joke of the day was getting Fiji to behave by stopping trade with them and they wont be able to do anything but to throw coconuts at NZ. LOL Last Thursday, the Joke was USA put regulations on imports and exports, like they'll say to Africa we'll accept your tribal sticks and witchdoctor's masks but not other things. This lecturer will make us laugh at least once during every lecture. Anyway today the fire alarm went off so we got released early.

Thoughts on anime: Naruto was awesome last week, one of the best episode I've seen in a long time, the story about how Kakashi got his Sharingan. They should've put the Sadness and Sorrow theme to go with it. Bleach started a new filler season, about some dude who can control Zanpakutous, looks quite interesting but they should really get on with the main story. New Fullmetal Alchemist, basically rewatching the start of the old FMA, havent seen any new stuff yet, they did change some parts to the story though.
