Pool Competition

Last saturday I invited Ming, Dixon and Gopi to join me in a pool competition, playing at Newmarket Tenpin Bowling place. Had some free chinese buns then we quickly jumped right into it. There were a total of 12 players including us, we had to play each player twice and record down our score, the one with the most points at the end wins. I did pretty bad when vsing my friends, Gopi 1-1, Dixon 0-2, Ming 0-2 (sunk the black ball but called the wrong pocket). However I did the best out of us when playing against the other adults there. The adults there were pro as, they will always sink at least 3 balls before you get your turn again. I managed to draw 1-1 with most of them with the occasional 2-0. However none of us made it to the top 3 which was quite disappointing.

Newmarket Tenpin Bowling pool area

After pool we went to get some chow, had some pretty good dishes from the Newmarket food court. Then still didnt feel like heading home, we rocked up to Giga internet cafe and started some action on Left 4 Dead 2. Nothing like killing zombies with 3 friends for stress relief (or maybe it builds up stress, especially if you die lol). Anyway it was a fun day, look forward to it again next year!

Transformers 3 - Dark of the Moon

Went to watch the new Transformers movie Dark of the Moon last night and I've got one word for it, epic. Shia LaBeouf said "It is the best one we've done" and I couldnt agree more. This movie is like a level above both of the previous ones, in terms of almost every aspect. So before I put down my thoughts on this movie, I would like to point out the obvious. Yes there is no more Megan Fox and we have a new blond model instead. Apparently, Megan and the director just couldnt work together which is a shame since I prefer her. I mean she was in the previous 2, her role was already integrated into this series but well, apparently not lol

Anyway moving on, I'd start of with the story. For the first two movies, the story was pretty straight forward however in this one they added a nice twist into it, like I didnt even see it coming. There were also way more emotional parts in this movie which made it more intense. The action, boy were there plenty of actions. The stunts they pulled of this time was like I said, a level higher than it's previous ones. The robot graphics has improved significantly, you could actually see how they are fighting and not just metal parts smashing into each other. I also liked how they had a few slow motion scenes so you could really understand what was going on.

I watched the movie in 2D because I dont believe in 3D movies these days however there is a chance that this movie in 3D wouldnt have been that bad due to the improved graphics. The soundtracks they used during the movie was really nice, I enjoyed it and is thinking of downloading it. Although the overall movie wont get spoiled if you watched the trailer however I recommend that you dont, you get to enjoy the movie more that way, more suprising epic scenes :) I've decided to dish out a 10/10 for Transformers 3.

Welcome to the NHK

So finally finished exams! This series of exams is probably the toughest one yet I've experienced in university. Anyway due to the late start of our first exam, I've managed to finish Welcome to the NHK. I've heard this anime being one of the best every so often and now here are my thoughts on it.

The story revolves around the main character Sato who is a hikikomori, a person who basically refuses to go out and stays in his house for life. A random girl called Misaki approaches him and wishes to cure his hikikomori lifestyle. Along the series, he fell into a lot of the traps which made him even more antisocial.

Comedy is probably the best part in Welcome to the NHK, there are so many randomness in this anime that just makes you go wtff and burst out laughing. Since Sato is a hikikomori, its hilarious when he comes into contact with new things he has never experienced before. Another thing which this anime has that a lot doesnt is it portrays life. In normal anime, we see that exciting event always happen around the main character however its a bit different in this anime. The things they do are like a lot of the stuff we do every day so I find the anime extremely easy to relate to it or be in their shoes.

However because this anime reflects on life, you also get disappointments, just like in real life. Like in every other anime, main character will always succeed in accomplish their goals. Welcome to the NHK is not like that type of anime, sometimes they just fail and they just have to move on. I find this slightly unappealing since I watch anime to see scenarios thats NOT happening in real life lol. In summary this anime has been enjoyable to watch, been rated high all over the net and gets an 8/10 from me.

X-Men: First Class

No more management reflections! Actually to a certain extent they did help with my learning cause the only 303 materials I know right now is from what I wrote. Anyway after submitting our 370 lab reports and studied hard for a few hours, Dixon, Dennis, Jp and I went to watch X-Men: First Class. To be honest I was actually looking forward to this movie, the whole "Before he was Professor X. Before he was Magneto" thing really sparked my interest. Good job to the advertising department lol

Since this movie is fairly new, I'll try to keep the spoilers minimum. To start off I really enjoyed this movie. It realy showed the beginning of the entire X-Men series, the past of both Charles and Erik. It showed how their friendship is considered top above anything else. We always knew that Charles and Magneto had some sort of past together and finally this reveals it. You also see how some of the original X-Mens come about like Mystique which was pretty interesting.

I thought the soundtrack used was nice, it really suited the way the battle turned out. I also liked the guy who played Charles, a much better job here compared to when he was in Wanted. He seemed confident and really portrayed the image of Charles Xavier, his passion to help to mutants. One thing I didnt really like was the mutants powers, I think they're starting to run out of ideas lol. They reused old ones and the new ones were pretty random... But overall, I recommend to watch this movie, cinemas, yeah if you want the good effects and sound but definately worth downloading x) 8/10

Management Reflection - week 10

From last week's lectures, I learned most from the the topic of knowledge innovation. There are two types of knowledge, tactit and explicit. Tacit knowledge is knowledge based on one's experience and feelings on the matter while explicit knowledge is written facts and figures presented to you. The lecturer then moved on to knowledge flows, saying that interactions between tacit and explicit knowledge can create numerous flows.

A simple conversation could be the start of a knowledge flow, where one talks about his experience or his way of doing things to another person. Socialisation is the form of tacit to tacit knowledge flow. Externalisation is from tacit to explicit and the most obvious example for it is teaching. Teachers are taking what they know and presenting it to you by putting it on powerpoint slides or notes. The opposite of that is internalisation; explicit to tacit. This is when you take what you learned from what you read, start making it into your habit and adding your own variation to it. Lastly there is combination, explicit to explicit. An example of this could be summerising what you have learned in class, like writing this reflection on learning.

Management Reflection - week 9

Last week we went over the topic of innovation. Innovation is basically bringing something new in, it could be useless and weird but it is still an innovation. The concept is similar to evolution, if one does not change with the world, it will be left behind and will not survive. The lecturer showed an example of this by showing us the S-curve of technological development. Section 1 shows the initial slow growth of a technology eg. phone. Section 2 is the rapid increase in the use of it. Lastly section 3 reaches a limit where people just got bored of it and the slope of the curve dies off. Here is when innovation or evolution comes in. A smart company will take their products to their next level eg. iPhone 4 to iPhone 5. Just before the product reach it's limit, they will release a better version of the product so the curve can continue rising and not die off.

Another point I learned was the Business Model Innovation. It is when a business takes a whole new approach in marketing their products. I had to agree with the example the lecturer said about Nokia was advertising their phones by showing simply how great their technology was. However Apple marketed their iPhone through applications. Through the use of applications like Facebook, the customers realise how great this piece of technology is. The two models has a slight difference however this extra step can determine whether the business suceed in the market or not.

Management Reflection - week 8

Last week, the focus for the course was on marketing. The market research section seemed familiar to me because I often participated in the research without realising it myself. The purpose of market research is basically to help companies understand the opportunities and problems between themselves and the customers. To do research before launching a product seemed pretty self explanatory to me because why would anyone buy your product, if it was not what the customers were looking for?

Then the lecturer talked about the different categories of market research. Exploratory, descriptive and causal, each differ in terms of the magnitude of the research. Causal is simply compare product A to product B, an experimental research. Exploratory research is when the company is unaware of it's problems therefore doing research on finding out where it is going wrong. Descriptive is when the company is aware of it's problems and therefore doing research on how to solve it.

The lecturer mentioned the site Smile City, how they conduct market research on selected individuals. Being a member of the site, I recalled the different kind of surveys I had received and now understands how the research works. Occasionally I get surveys which falls into the exploratory area while other times I get yes, no questions which means they are descriptive or causal questions.

Choas;Head

Recently finished watching Chaos;Head and I have to say it wasnt that bad. The story involves a high school dude Nishijou Takumi, standard otaku who dislikes 3D girls, collects figurines and plays computer games, oh and he lives in a shipping container LOL. In the city of Shibuya, there has been a series of killing which the people called the New Gen events. On a particular night, Takumi witnessed the event happening and the killer even greeted him. The very next day, he found the the killer was his friend without him even realising it...?

One thing I really liked about this anime was the character personalities, they're all unique in their own way which makes them very likeable. The story itself started off quite well, as the series go on, you start to sense theres a bigger picture behind the scenes which makes the anime interesting. I had to keep clicking next episode because I was so hooked into it.

The ending however wasnt so great, they rushed it a bit so a lot of it does not really make sense so that brought it down. It had a huge potential, they should've worked on the ending more carefully and I gurantee it would've been an awesome anime to watch for everyone. In terms of music, the background music in anime were pretty standard and I enjoy the opening and ending. Im having trouble rating this a 6 or 7 out of 10 so maybe just a 6.5/10 :P

Chaos;Head songs

One of the best Friday in uni life

So last Friday we planned a gelato day. Thanks to the vouchers that Alvin bought, after the 370 interviews, the crew went down to iStorm - the gelato place. The voucher was pay $4 and get $10 worth of anything in the shop so we each got a $8 glass of special mix gelatos. This is what I got, a triple youghurt one. Sorry for the pic, lighting wasnt great at the store.

We then found there were all these fun interactive, strategy games like Jenga, connect 4, 3D connect 4. So six engineers sat down and battled it out XD Jenga was an epic game, so much manuvering and stabilising was required for it lol. Here is Dixon concentrating...

After Jenga, we moved on to 3D connect 4 and it was one of the best games I've played in a while. Had to think in terms of 3D planes, some lines I just couldnt even see it until it was pointed out LOL. It was also harder since you are playing against 2 other people. So while 3 people were duelling it out on the 3D version, we had 2 others on the simpler normal connect 4. I won that one with ease.

After spending like 2 and a half hours in the store, we decided to leave, went back to engineering and started playing card XD until it was tutorial time. That day was just too relaxed but we also had tonnes of fun :D

Dead Space

So 2 days ago I finished Dead Space, a game I started last month. Warning! This game is designed to scare you so keep away from Dead Space if find these screenshots disturbing. Anyway if you can handle it, you're in for around 20 hours of extreme killing.

You start off in a space shuttle sent to repair a large spaceship called Ishimura however upon landing you immediately notice there is something wrong with the ship. Nobody is around, luggage scatter all over the place and then suddenly you get attacked by these unknown creatures with freakish long limbs that look like blades. At this point you'll realise what you have to do in this game, kill these things and to find out what happened to the ship.

I thought this game was similar to Resident Evil, being 3rd person shooter however Dead Space is much more suprising and tend to do more jumps to startle you. Like in Resident Evil you can see the zombies from miles away but here they'll spawn an enemy right next to you which causes you to panick and start spamming all over the place. Which can be annoying because you have to find your own ammos and guns. The good thing is there are electronic stores on the ship which you use to buy ammos. However you wont be able to buy any new items unless you find the schematics for it first.

You can use these things called power nodes to upgrade your weapons but becareful you wont be able to max out everything on every single weapon. This forces you to think and plan out strategies when you fight these creatures, some weapons are long range while some are short hence some weapon works better against some enemies. A lot of times I ran out of ammo for a certain type of gun which stops me from moving forward since I cant kill the creature thats blocking me.

The graphics and details on the monsters are pretty good especially when you get killed by one of them. They show you exactly how you died, like your head gets chopped off or your body gets ripped in half. Certain effects in the game are also pretty unique, like when you are in a vacuum you can not hear anything also the zero gravity zone can get you pretty confused and lose your sense of direction lol. The downside of Dead Space I think is that it gets really repetitive after half way when you've gotten used to the creatures. Personally I think they should've made the game a bit shorter so players would not get bored of it. Nevertheless, Dead Space is a good game if you're trying to find some excitement in your everyday gaming life.

Durarara!!

Another anime with exclaimation mark at the end of it's name and this time it has two!! Does it mean it is double awesome? X)
So I just finished watching Durarara!! which I started a few days ago. Dont even ask what the title means, I dont even know, google it lol. I would say this anime is good but nothing further than that. First of all I gotta say I love the character design, including the clothes they wear, just simple and stylish. I think most people will agree with me the two best looking characters are Izaya and Shizuo.

So what is this anime about? Well to summarise it, it is about the district in the city of Tokyo called Ikebukoru. At the start of the anime, you get an overwhelming introduction of nearly all the characters who appears in the anime. At first you dont see how they are related but as you progress more into the anime, you see the connections they have with each other. I didnt like the start of the anime because you couldnt see the purpose or the point of this anime but it gets better by the episode. It got to a point where I just HAD to click the next one to see what happens, damn cliff hangers...

This anime contains both fantasy and reality. The reality being its based in an actual city, they even drew the actual landmarks in the anime. Also a lot of the concepts behind it are very real which can be seen in our current society eg. gangs and internet chat rooms. The fantasy being the characters, like a dude with insane strength, chucking vending machines everywhere. However without the fantasy, this anime would not have worked. The fantasy and reality intertwined with each other producing the core of Durarara. So in the end I rate Durarara a 7/10.

This video just shows how real the anime was, quite unbelievable :O
Btw the songs used here are the openings and endings of the anime. So it was good I found this video, can show both the setting and songs of the anime. 2nd and 3rd songs are my favourite :)

Management Reflection - week 6

For the last week of the accounting module, we learned about capital expenditure. Capital expenditures is when a company spends money to acquire an asset and instead to use it for a long term. For example a machine or vehicle. This matter is significant to any business since you are required to put down a large sum of money and because it will take a while before you can break even, it is uncertain that the asset can help you earn a profit. Therefore CAPEX must be carefully planned, if we did not budget enough for it, it can result in eg. not producing enough products to meet demands. If we over invest in the budget then we already lost the money since the very start with uncertainty that we'll be able to get it back.

To avoid these mistakes, we learned techniques which can help us make the right decision when it comes to CAPEX. There are two categories, non-discounting and discounted cash flow techniques. I learned that money has a time value, the value in few years time will be less than the value now. The non-discounting technique excludes the time value factor. The discounted cash flow technique on the other hand is a more accurate method when it comes to estimating CAPEX since it takes the time value into consideration.

Management Reflection - week 5

Last week we finished the module on budget. Budget is basically a planned guideline, a goal of what the company is hoping to achieve in a long term. Without a budget, a company might spend too much money on one aspect of the firm which result in the lack of money for other areas. By having a budget, it sets a limit on how much money the company should invest in that area. As long as the company stick to their budget, their chances of success will increase because they are following the plan which they believed was the best option for the firm.

I learned that a proper budget must be done step by step because one thing leads to another. We begin with the sales budget, this decides how much we want to have sold at the end of the time frame. Production budget comes next, after we know the units to be sold, we can work out how much we need to produce in order to meet that requirement. From the production budget, we can form our direct material, labour and factory overhead budget which then goes under cost of goods manufactured and sold budget. Then we have the selling and administrative expenses budget. By combining all the previous budgets, a cash budget, probably the most important budget, can be made. This budget indicates how will the cash run in the company and how much we will have left to operate our business. Finally a balance sheet is produced.

Start of the Food Blog - Korean BBQ Queen St

The most intense part of this term has finally past. Dixon adn I worked our asses off on the report this morning, not sure if how we'll do the interview next term lol... After handing in our report because I didnt have breakfast so I was really keen for some korean bbq buffet. So I rallied the crew and head off for to Queen St while the other faction went to Golden Bowl.

Ok so this was suppose to be my management reflection but I just realised I dont know what to write so I'll have a read over the notes tomorrow and see if I can come up with anything. Instead, I had a thought on this for a while, I think I will start writing about what I eat around Auckland uni. I look for affordable and delicious food, most campanions who eats with me enjoys where I take them so I have decided to share with everyone.

So I will start my food bloggin with the Korean BBQ place. The place is literally called Korean BBQ buffet. It is located on Queen St, walk up towards Upper Queen St and it is on the left side, after a block of asian restaurants and before you reach Upper Queen St. It is a self serve, self cook sort of BBQ.

Playing while cooking :-)

The price is $15 for lunch, $18 for dinner. All you can eat but apparently there is a 2 hours limit (1 hour if you eat by yourself), we normally finish under 2 hours anyway. Since this is affordable buffet, dont expect luxurious meat selections. There are like 6 meats, marinated chicken/beef, spicy pork/squid, pork belly and beef. There are pre cooked food like fried chicken wings, egg rolls. Fruit juice (Raro), rice, all unlimited so it is a pretty good deal for students, especially one who just loves meat.

Management Reflection - week 4

2 more weeks of uni left, the Mechatronics crew are basically just living in the computer labs these past few days, working on our 370 project. There is also the 322 test coming up on Friday, I got the feeling there will be some intense study during Friday's 6 hours gap.

Over the recent two weeks, we learned about cost. Cost is one of the most important aspect when running a business because the more you reduce it, the more profit you will make. We went over different type of costs, there are variable costs, fixed costs and contribution margin. Variable costs varies with the level of output eg. direct material. Fixed costs are constant eg. rent. It sounded basic when the lecturer was going through the notes but as he went deeper, I realised that these are the fundamental concept which you have to know very well in order to make the right decision for your business.

We were taught how to make a right decision when we went through Relevant Costs and Special Decisions and this really opened my mind. If it took my company requires $110 to produce a table. Another company orders a bulk and wants $100 a piece, before I heard the lecturer, I thought obviously deny the deal, whats the point if you are losing $10? But that was because I did not take into account the fixed cost factor. With proven maths examples, I soon realised that how wrong I was. The crucial point here was that the fixed cost does not rise therefore the more order you take, after paying off the fixed cost, you will still earn profit.

Battle Los Angeles

After a hard day of working on the 322 project, Dennis and I went to watch Battle Los Angeles. Thought we could use the 2 for 1 voucher but nooo couldnt use it for Battle LA, scammed, so we end up paying full price. Went inside, found out some dudes stole our seats but meh the cinema wasnt full anyway, still had centre view.

So I went in there without knowing what it was about nor did I watch any trailers. All I've seen were the big posters around city. I think I'm going to do that from now on, go into a movie without prior knowledge of it, that why you can enjoy it more. The element of suprise hits you harder. Thats what I experienced, I didnt even know who they were fighting until like an hour into the movie lol.

Anyway I thought the movie was pretty good, a solid action war movie, not much story. If you're looking for an amazing story kind of movie please stop reading but if you're looking for an intense action just for the fun of it, this is your stop. One thing I really liked about this movie was the instrumental background music, it gave me the feeling of Transformers when I heard it which was perfect for this kind of movie. There was also a part where it was really sad, that plus the background music made my eyes all watery. My objective for watching this movie was purely for stress relief and I certainly achieved it when I walked out of the cinema so Battle Los Angeles gets at least 7/10 from me.

P.S. new favourite song Superhero by Chingy :D

Management Reflection - week 2

So here we go again, although I havent received my marks back for the first reflection, I thought this blogging technique turned out quite well so I'm going to try sticking to it.

Last week we learned some basic concepts of financial accounting and documents which are essential to all businesses. I learned quite a few terms which can be seen often in everyday life, eg asset, revenue. I think it is important to know all these business terminologies because we will definately have contact with it in the future.

We then moved on to the core equation of accounting (Assets = Liabilities + Owner's Equity) and working capital. The whole concept of a working capital really opened my mind to businesses. I always thought that as long as you get sales, your business can keep going. I have never thought about the money that was required in the middle of the process; the gap between getting your sales and producing your goods. As the lecturer put it, like oil in an engine, without the working capital, a business will run "dry".

The documents which are essential to any business are the statement of financial position and the statement of financial performance. The more I learned about these documents, I realised that a lot of details had been put in them. It made sense because if you do not monitor your business properly and accurately, there is no way to determine which path your business should take in the future.

Management Reflection - week 1

So for this semester we have a management for engineers course and we're asked to write reflections on what we learned throughout the week. At first I thought geez more essays but then I realised this is kinda like writing a blog article, where I just write down what I see and how I feel about it. So here I will just gather my ideas and rewrite it for the tutorial, see if that works.

One of the first thing which I took note of the lecturer's saying was that we manage our classes, work, basically our lives without thinking about it. My friends and I weigh which classes are important and which ones arent, which ones are worth going to and which ones arent. A mum who manages household work and kids at the same time is an effective manager. What we are trying to learn is how to manage our engineering career.

We learned the four functions of management are planning, organising, leading and controlling. I already knew about the first three since I've been doing it regularly. My first thought on controlling was basically the same as leading. However the lecturer showed that was external control, there is also an internal control where you help people achieve results through self direction and self discipline. I have never considered that as a way of managing a team.

Another point I took in was the “Hawthorne Halo” effect. Studies show when someone is watching you or gives you compliments, you automatically do better in most cases. If my boss was watching me work, I would be forced to raise my standard and if he gave me a compliment then I would know that this is the level I should be working at, to make both him and the company happy. I can make use of this next time when I organise or lead a group, whether in games or for school projects.

I guess this is about it, hopefully this is enough XD

Ga-Rei Zero

This anime was probably the fastest anime I've gone through, finished it in less than 3 days. Although it was short with only 12 episodes but at the end of every episode, it just kept making me wanting to click the next one. I must mention the one thing that made this anime so special, the opening episode. I wont go through any spoilers here but the first episode was like nothing I have seen before and automatically, I just had to click the second episode. All credits goes to the director, for making such a huge attention grabbing opening.

The storyline was pretty straight forward, I'm sure most of us could have predicted the ending, we just watched the anime to found out what happened during the middle. Again, this is different to other animes where the audience look forward to the ending. A flaw in this anime is that some background stories were not explained and the true bad guy does not reveal himself. Although this clearly states there will be a second season, whenever they decide to make it, hence the name Zero.

The creativity of this anime was fascinating, some of the weapons the characters used were just so unique and occasionally funny. The artwork was nice, music was good. I loved the opening theme, added to my favourite songs list. I give Ga-Rei Zero 9/10.

Sugar sweet nightmare, final Bakemonogatari

Finally finished watching Bakemonogatari after putting it off since last year due to slow episode release. My opinion on the anime has not changed since my first review about it, which can be found here.

I am still supporting my initial rating of 8/10 even though I said it could go up. How come it did not go up? Well because the remaining episodes were pretty average, I reckon they already showed the climax at episode 12 and I would have been perfectly happy if it had ended there. Although the final episodes werent that exciting, one positive thing in them was the opening! Just the kind of song I like ^^ and here it is.

Oh and also Bakemonogatari will still be continuing in season 2! Kizumonogatari! It should be a blast and reveals more about Araragi's past I hope.

Reunion with the Clan

After a day or two of organising, I got together a crew of our old Dota clan back in high school. D0T4!
Had dinner, caught up with recent events, hard to believe we all used to play in one game dota, now we just all doing our thing.
We started this reunion with old school CS 1.5, shooting, loling, knifing, loling. Then some dota action plus random warcraft maps, whining and complaining about how sht the map is but trying to win it at the same time XD
Last game of Maze of Sliding Bunnies was epic, so much concentration and laughter. Our clan teamwork was also shown but we still couldnt beat the game lol. In the end, its the fun that matters. That is the purpose of gaming isnt it?

Shawn showed me this song and I liked it instantly.

Favourite songs at the moment; 2NE1 "To Anyone" album

I recently downloaded 2NE1's lastest album To Anyone which was released last year 2010. I've gotta say I quite like it, although there are 2 or 3 songs I dislike but overall it is a nice album.

Most songs are quite unique, they got their own style and beat. They used more autotune in this album compare to their previous one which is slightly disappointing but then again it fits well with their techno-ish music.

Strangely (or is it obviously) my favourite song is not one of those techno ones but a slower pace You & I. Others which I also like are Go Away, I'm Busy and Please Dont Go. Check right side for these awesome tunes.

Two other songs also made my favourite list. Last Moment which was used for Bleach's ending and U Can Do It which was the ending for Naruto Shippuuden, this one is definately one of the best songs used in Naruto.

Make Up

So I saw this on TV last night and was just shocked... (and fascinated)

It's an unbreakable chain really... girls like to make themselves beautiful >> guys like beautiful girls >> girls must put make up before going out >> girls can not stop using make up >> girls get bad skin >> guys gets shocked seeing girls without make up >> dislike in the end???

So... how do we solve the problem? There is no GOOD solution for this problem, we cant take make up out of our current society, how can the movie stars or singers shoot another video? We cant tell girls to stop using make up and cant stop guys to like girls with beautiful/sexy makeup, they are in both our natures.

I can only say, appearance can be deceiving, do not judge a book by it's cover, yada yada etc etc. In the end it's the inside that really counts, if a guy can make a girl laugh and if the girl cares for the guy then... isnt that a win win situation? In other words, happiness?

Dear Goldfish,
Have you had trouble with makeup?

Holiday Games

I am pretty sure a lot of my fellow friends are drowning themselves in games since its the holiday plus there is nothing to do if you're not working or studying. I have too, been playing games to kill time and these are the games I've been rotating around in a day.

Been playing the My Player Mode, a SF playing for the Washington Wizards, best in the league right now :P I enjoy playing the my player mode in these NBA games since currently I am unable to play in real life so this is the closest thing for me. Anyway My Player Mode allows you to create your own NBA player then you've got to get picked and go through training camp etc. Quite realistic, your action corresponds to the grade you get at the top of the screen. If you play really bad then you're likely to get a C. If you do everything right and even though you didnt score a single point, you can still end a game with an A. I've still got one month until the Play Offs, aiming for the ring!

I've always enjoyed playing the COD Modern Warfare series, best single player FPS game in my opinion. Amazing graphics, realistic and the interesting interaction with the player are the keys of a winning game. Although this isnt MW, it still contains all these elements. Too bad my computer isnt as good as I hoped, it is barely running the game. I get really bad lags occasionally which makes it impossible to aim. The time frame of the game dates back to 1968 so no fancy high tech guns but nevertheless it still has a good story for the single player mode. I'm half way through it atm ^^

Ahh the new Golden Sun game, I have mentioned it last year and it has finally come out at the end of last year (after delaying it again for like 2 months...). Anyway it is almost impossible to get the game to run perfectly on pc with the current emulators out there. I've got it to work but it runs kinda slow, averaging 30-40 FPS. I've spent most of my time playing this game these days, Golden Sun contains everything, a story, battles, puzzles and cute graphics, suitable for all guys and girls, whatever the age. I dont know how far I am in to the game, probably 1/3? So far I reckon this game is easier compare to it's predecessors, definately better graphics though XD

China 桂林(Guilin) Preview

After finishing a period of uni at Taipei, I am now at Kaohsiung and can finally enjoy some quiet and relaxing life style. I wont have to wake up before 7am and travel for 2 hours to school then back lol...
I will be uploading the photos that we took from our China trip and from the Flora Expo in Taipei, on facebook not here. It will probably be 2012 (omg world end) if I upload all those photos here. Yes it is that slow.

I will however, give a slight preview on here. So this was my second time to China and this time I went to 桂林(Guilin). There is a Chinese saying and it goes like this 桂林山水甲天下 and it means the scenery in Guilin dominates the world. I gotta say, I agree with this only if it was 10 years ago. Right now China is urbanising rapidly which results in pollution or smog forming in quite a few areas. Houses are build along rivers and mountains which does not at all match the scenery. It is due to these factors which brought disappointment while I was touring China.

Nevertheless, 桂林 is still a world recognised touring spot and here is a slight preview :)

Beautiful scenery, too bad there was no sunshine...

Aim, fire! (Yes I was firing something, 5 tennis balls in fact xD)

Ooooh pretty rock

Yay we all got flowers on our heads~ Had to return them afterwards though... cheap bastards..

A giant mirror on the ground...?

Dear Goldfish,

Finally started to write again after a month XD thanks to you. You gave me motivation to keep writing and not being lazy!
I didnt expect to receive your message that early so I was pretty happy when I saw it :D My writing is not as beautiful as yours but I like to keep my readers entertained ^^
